Crescent Processing Company Rumors — Getting the Facts Straight

Crescent Processing Company has been in the processing business for more than 5 years, during which they have provided quality service to thousands of satisfied companies. Despite their consistently excellent performance, however, malicious rumours are still going around that can be very detrimental to the company’s reputation.

It’s about time people got their facts straight. Here are some of the most persistent rumours along with the real facts.

Crescent has been given a failing grade by the Better Business Bureau.

First of all, Crescent Processing Company is not even accredited with the BBB. Unfortunately, companies of this status are automatically given low grades by the BBB, no matter how great the performance of the company really is.

This rumour is further intensified by the 294 complaints filed against Crescent Processing Company on the BBB website. At first, 294 does seem like an alarmingly big number of complaints. But when you consider the more than 65,000 satisfied customers who didn’t have a reason to file complaints, it becomes a trivial amount.

Crescent intentionally withholds merchants’ funds.

Yes, it’s true that Crescent has withheld some merchants’ funds from credit card sales in the past but these are isolated cases and are never done without reason. In fact, the only reason funds are withheld is if there is a suspicion of fraud. Funds are immediately released upon completion of investigation. This is a routine procedure practiced not only by Crescent but by all processing companies in the world.

Crescent does not give applicants a copy of the application form, and is therefore a scam.

In the early years, merchants’ submitted their application information on paper, which are collected by sales agents for encoding later on. But red flags were raised on this system when some of the company’s sales agents were found guilty of tampering with the application documents in order to get a higher rate off the merchants.

Today, there is no longer such a risk because all sales agents carry a laptop with them at all times, along with a digital signature pad where the merchants can sign their name. Once the information is encoded into the laptop, it can no longer be changed.

Crescent sales agents have to pay for their own laptops.

As mentioned, all Crescent sales agents now carry a laptop for efficient collection of information of new merchant clients. The agent is never required to pay for the laptop but they do have to pay $300 as a deposit. However, this deposit is only taken in installments whenever the agent make a sale, and is returned in full to the agent when they return the laptop.

The free equipment Crescent provides to merchants is not really free.

As soon as a merchant signs up with the Crescent Processing Company, they receive a credit card terminal and equipment for receipt capture, check service and pin-based debit, all of which they can use 100% free of charge for as long as they are working with Crescent.

Merchants interested in working with the Crescent Processing Company can rest assured that they will be in good hands with this group. If they need to clarify any issue regarding the company and the service they provide, it is best that they inquire directly with the management rather than listen to false rumors that can cause them to miss out on the excellent service this company has to offer.
